What A ZOO!

My friends rescue was recently brought some more animals. This baby Donkey will be paired with the Zebra- they will grow up to be similar sizes and can pal around and keep each other company!

This is a Prehensile Tailed Porcupine

Some pretty pictures of all the rescued Macaws!

And this beauty... well, this is DandyLion... you can call him Dan!
He is 11 years old and was recently brought to the farm to live out the rest of his life. He is a very sweet guy !

It is incredible just how BIG he is... i mean, the tigers and bears are big... but Dan is HUGE!

Fun Pictures

Pinkerton Edited a few more pics from past shoots!

My Summer Vacation

AKA a trip to my parents house!
My parents took a last minute trip to Emerald Isle, NC. And asked us to watch their house and do all the work that comes with it. Now, i love my parents house... but i am glad to be home. Being 20 minutes away from everything you know and do- doesn't sound very far, but we felt isolated at times.
Day 1 and Reason #1 to love my parents house
The Stocked bar!

Day 2 and reason to cry run and hide?
Wolf Spider in the HOUSE...in THE HOUSE

Day 2 and Reason #2 for loving my parents house- My Brother George. He is a 23 year old Red Lord Amazon Parrot. We have owned him his entire life! I caught him eating pizza... so he is a little surprised! ha!

Vega dragged the fish pillow next to Klohe's bed to snuggle a little! They love each other!

Day three and reason #3 for loving my parents house... THE CHICKENS!!!!

Saturday night Chris and Pink came over to hang out. I played Bartender and had a blasty Blast!

Cosmo's all around!

The boys drinking the girlie drinks i made them!

the Blue Diablo!

And my favorite- the Moscow Mule!

Day 4, reason #4 to love my parents house: All the great places to sit and enjoy Nature... chipmunks, deer, turkeys, hawks, woodpeckers (three sizes!) and I took this picture from the wrap around front porch

Day 5 and reason #5 why i love my parents house. That my friends, is a tanning bed. Nothing like doing chores (and there are A LOT) then running on the treadmill, heading immediately to this tanning bed to warm sore muscles, and finish it off with a shower. Love it!

Day 6 and reason #6 why i love my parents house: the DEER! These two frolic around like this neighborhood is their playground, got to be careful when driving!

Day number seven and reason #7 for loving my parents house... the Chickens front row view of the pond...and yes that is a lamp post in the woods (NARNIA?!?!)

The Koi fish (big as cats!)

Day number eight and reason #8 that i love my parents house. THE HOME GYM! Complete with built in mirrors! Love it!

Day 9 and reason #9 for loving my parents house... breakfast on the deck!

Think we have been eating a lot of eggs while here?

Day 10 and reason number ten for loving my parents house... BILI IS HERE WITH ME! awwwww!

Took a hike with Vega on our last day... this is walking down the driveway of the neighbors that live directly behind my parents house... i grew up playing here! Isnt it funny that this is where i grew up and yet i hate to go camping?

Behind my parents house there has always been this mucky nasty pond... there are a few nicer ponds beyond it but Vega was too hot to continue the walk further. When i was a kid someone dumped a bunch of HUGE old fashion carnival stuffed animals in this muck (for shooting practice perhaps?) and they were there for the longest time... making it look VERY creepy

So of course Vega dived right in... and sank into the mud up to her belly.... here she is carefully climbing out of the muck, see all the deer hoof prints in the dried mud?

Look at those mud-socks!

We had a good time! But next year- we are going on vacation with them! lol

Dreadlock Holiday

I always "dread" working on my locks. Once  I start I am glad I got around to it... but it sounds silly to others when I tell them my evening is full- got to work on my hair!

But it really is a chore. Luckily, I only have to work on my roots about once a month, wash it twice a month, and color it when I absolutely cant stand my dark roots anymore (every 2 mths or so!)

Yesterday was a big day... I hadn't colored it in 2 mths, or worked on my roots in over a month... so it was time to do it all at once!

*clears schedule for the evening*

I decided to document the time it takes to do this WHILE doing it...and this is what I got:

1:36 pm
Enter the bathroom and immediately start procrastinating... cleaning, picking at my face... okay get your act together and toss that hair on top of your head and start working on the back row of dreads.
- Grabs latch hook and first dread and start to pull it through its own base to tighten it to my head. Usually when doing this they only need pulled through twice ... my hair had grown long enough that I needed to do it at least three times to each dread!

1:52 pm

18 dreads done and my arms hurt!

2:04 pm

30 dreads done and most of the back part I cannot see is done. I hold up a mirror to see the mess that is the back of my head, but with the combination of working by touch and not sight, AND the fact that I sleep on that part of my head- its not the prettiest of situations...

2:22 pm

45 dreads in....

2:38 pm

69 dreads (tee hee) on the home stretch!!!

2:54

90 dreads and done! Less then an hour and a half. NOT BAD! I am definitely getting better at this...

3:20 pm

Time to apply hair color to my roots. Today I am only dying the blond areas, I don't think the maroon I have on my lower dreads will ever lighten, it will have to grow out.

4:20 pm

Time to rinse the hair color out of these "sponges"

4:45 pm

The drying process begins.... I blow dry the dreads several times and sleep on a towel... It can take a few days for them to completely dry. I am always scared of mold and mildew!

So I am done for a few weeks now... its amazing how quickly time flies and it is time to do this all over again!

Perfect Peach and Peter Tosh

Over the weekend we had a great fall fire complete with Pumpkin Cake, Spiked Apple Cider, and Grilled Corn!

(Taken by Pinkerton)

Had a visit from Sir Cuervo

(Top two pics taken by Pinkerton)

Saturday we were lucky to have time to visit some dear friends in Canton. Gallery owners and Artists that helped us get our start and helped us along the way! Then we cooked up some awesome junk food and watched MacGruber before crashing for the night! Sunday my Vag was rocked with mother nature so i cursed her as she pained my midsection for most the day. Ended it with more friend hangouts!
Today has been productive against all odds. Work, Took Grandma Grocery shopping, Picked a ton of Basil, Jogged, Showered, Made enough Pesto to freeze, Cleaned the kitchen again, re-potted a plant, and now I'm chilling before we take an evening walk and end the day with a beer!

At work i was given A Perfectly Perfect Peach!

While picking basil at my friends house, i was given a Mystery Plant Plucked from the grave of Peter Tosh. We will see what it turns in too!

Playing Catch Up from Xanga, Originally dated September 6, 2010

Took a trip to the County Fair Today! It has been years!
Made sure every animal got a head pat
The Cow's

The Piggies

Sheep

Chicks and Chickens

Even the Turkeys!

Made fun of the moldy prize winning food.... everything had ants and flies buzzing on it with plenty of mold on top!

They had amazing side show attractions, my sister paid a dollar to see the Giant Rat. Which was basically a Capybara. Still worth the dollar!

I love all the colorful rides, we didn't take the time to ride them though

And of course, the Good Stuff! My little group had a smattering of Fish Sandwiches, Stromboli's, Birch Beer, Cotton Candy, Elephant Ears, Steak on a Stick... but passed up the deep friend oreos (had em before) deep friend twinkies and candy bars and cheese cakes etc!

But none of this mattered to me when i learned about the Elephant Encounter... I was ALL OVER THAT! I love Elephants. This traveling couple owns Cora (Asian and 51 years old) and Shannon (African and 35 years old). They take them around and educate people about them and offer rides at the end. They seemed well cared for and loved very much!

I would be ALL OVER THIS. Hanging from an elephants mouth for show... where do i sign up?

Cutest Butts ever!

When we got home I started my Couch to 5k program. M/W/F I will run on the treadmill. Week one consists of 60 seconds of jogging altered with 90 seconds walking... they up the anty each week until your running the entire time. I want to also commit to yoga on T/T. Im pretty jazzed about being back on an exercise program! Now we are enjoying this super fun bottle of wine in our super cute (not wine glasses) glasses!
