Thankful for much

Its been a busy 6+ days, We had not one, not two, but three thanksgivings and a leftovers meal to boot.  I didnt cook all weekend! This year our families both seemed very relaxed and chill. It was nice!
Over a week ago was the Launch Party for 'Stark Arthology' a book that contains 69 chosen area artists and my baby was picked! It was a beautiful event at the Canton Art Museum with free booze and dessert!
I Even bought this super fun necklace on Etsy from MEEPSIES!

Erin Mulligan, An artist in the book and a good friend of ours, Signed my boob since i wasnt in the book. (All the artists were asked to autograph their page in the book so they were busy with sharpies all night... i was put on the same level as the book with this maneuver lol)
Here is a look at Erin's ART, we love her so much!

Megan Mars was actually the one to start my boob signing that evening. Not only is Megan one of the best Artists around (She drew my Mermaid Tattoo that I have) But she is the sweetest gal who listens well and gives great advice.
Here is a link to MEGANS ART

Gathering of Happy Launch Party Guests getting their books signed!

The girls at the after party! Lovely Ladies, Talented, and wonderful!

Super awesome group of amazing people I am so blessed to know! On the far back left is Steve Ehret, his work is one of the few we have actually purchased, and some of you might remember that he painted the whole inside of my garage with all his cool charactors.
His art work is seen HERE

This table is full of artists like
Tiffany Marsh
Joseph Close
Patrick Buckohr (We are commissioning him to make Giant Giraffes for our front yard!)
David McDowell

The next day was our old roomie Scot's solo art show. He pretty much spent the evening drinking FOUR fourloco's (Yes the caffinated alcohol drink that is being taken off the shelves b/c of blacking out and hospitilizations) And for some reason that night i was EXHAUSTED, so i just tossed on a hat and chilled at the gallery til we went to the bar! It was over all a good night though!

Sunday the 21st I tossed three cans of refried beans in a dish and called it dinner. Your Welcome.

Just kidding, I made an awesome layered dish: refried beans, cream cheese, mexican seasoned beef, and cheese. Warmed that through, And made another dish of: Sour Cream, Guac, chopped Black Olives/Onions/Green Peppers? Green Chilis, and lots of lettuce and tomato! Open a bag of Margarita Lime chips and WHALAH! DINNER FOR DAYS! Its our favorite way to eat.

Tuesday was Dinner at my parents house with some out of town family. Wednesday we went shopping with some coupons at World Market! Woot!
oh and Happy news, I paid off my car! Well i thought i did, then i saw that i didnt quite overpay enough to cover the interest so i still owed... .03 cents! haha! I sent a check for TWO DOLLARS just to be sure! Send me THAT TITLE! It will feel SO GOOD to put all that money into savings. I have so many things on my to-buy list for next year! We currently are only in debt to our mortgage. Pretty awesome!
Thanksgiving morning we have a nice little routine of drinking our coffee and watching the parade... we slept in so we were able to fast forward through MOST OF THE STUPID PARADE. I like the High School Bands and Floats, but sure get tired of all the dance troups and singers ... what was with the Princess float with the Singer talking about boys wanting to look at her butt? Seems a little inappropriate for the age of girls they were aiming at.
After the disappointing parade we got ready and headed to my Grandparents house! I Swear my mom made and brought the BEST Stuffing i EVER ate. I don't know what she did to it, but it was SO GOOD!
Grandpa, Grandma and Aunt Berenice in the kitchen!

One, is the loneliest number...

Ahhhh we love our Nephew!

My sister Captivating our younger cousins attention. I think they were asking about her Dermal Anchor... lol

Afterward we headed to Bili's sisters house for another thanksgiving. Home of the infamous Cajun injected turkey. So moist, so flavorful!
Bili and our human Nephew Allen playing around... SERIOUS FACE

ANNNNNDDDD SILLY FACE

Friday I had my normal routine of house to myself + Christmas Decor + movies and boob tube watching. As always, it was glorious.
Vega was all up in my BIZNAS

Instead of putting up my trees i just decorated my front window's like store displays. I Love it!

Its hard to see in the picture but all my front windows are lit, I have huge Christmas balls hanging on the front porch. And i wrapped my pillars with green sparkly ribbon! My house looks like a gift!

Saturday night was my ten year reunion. I skipped it for family stuff. Between thanksgiving #3 and movie night at his parents, Bili and I spent three hours outside in the cold (His parents and sister came for moral support) playing with projectors and working on his project.
Found out that the housing we built to weatherproof the projectors made them over heat. And we are better off asking our investor to invest another 6 grand into professionally made weatherproof enclosures. Boner Killer! The first arrives today, hopefully tonight the Billy's can test it, order two more and have them in place by Thursday. Then they have the weekend to do the REAL work, the animation that will be projected on the library on Dec. 9th.
I am hoping after this they get hired by bars, clubs, organizations, business owners, to video map for special occasions and parties so they can pay off the equipment and make some money! For now I hope the rest of this first project goes smoothly.
Bili and I are like E.T. and Elliot when E.T. is sick. We are so darn connected that his stressed becomes mine, and vice versa.
Here is Bili and Billy sitting outside somewhere around hour 3 with the projectors and the mac book!

This is the front of the Library with a blue screen projected on it... Even something as simple as blue screen was exciting!

A short video of the testing of the equipment:

Last night we went down to the Gallery to decorate the front windows. Laurie Baker made this AWESOME Paper Mache' Snowman that looks amazing:

And i put up my tree after all... just not at my house :)

Some things i don't need, but kinda want:

This GIANT GUMMY WORM looks SO tasty! Even thought it looks... um... wrong, I think it would be yummier then the GIANT BEAR.
I need this in all the doors of my house, well that might get weird... Make sure they are all aimed towards the hallway, and not into the bedrooms :) ---TOTALLY AWESOME LINK TO CRYSTAL BALL door knobs!

Tuesday, November 2, 2010

Hello November, you sneaky gal.

"What did i just say, i talk so much i tune myself out"- Kelly, The Office
I think that's why i forget to blog, i am so tired of hearing my own voice, why would i want to read it too? That and life has and always will be so busy that when i get downtime i just want to be entertained... and putting words together to form a sentence seems like work.
Im going to start with an amazing deal... okay so if you LOVE coffee like me, you will love World Market's Coffee. Better yet, go to worldmarketexplorer dot com and sign up for the coffee rewards (every 7th bag free). THEN print out or find in your sunday paper the generous $10 off of $30 coupon. THEN go on a wednesday (Double coffee perks) and buy all coffee (The 24 oz bags count as 2 bags on your rewards).
I buy 3- 24oz bags at (8.99each) and 1- 12 oz bag for (5.99each).
And because this counts as essentially buying 14 bags of coffee (wednesdays only) i in turn get a coupon for 2 free bags of coffee!
So, for less then $25 i have 9 bags of coffee.
SCORE!
It'll last us months! and its good!
/amazing coffee deal

So my Lemon tree gave me its first actual lemon about a week ago! I cut it up and put it in a gallon of iced tea i made with my home made lemon balm! So good!!! Then my sister called and told me she had a bundle of clothes she was giving away, so of course i went and scavenged and brought home a new wardrobe for myself! Free clothes are the best! Spent two nights last week taking the animals to churches fall fest's. They were nice programs. I had goats both times and man alive, if baby pygmy goats arent the sweetest creatures ever... the second night the two babies were fast asleep on my lap. Aside from waking up for their bottle (Yes, bottle!) they were snuggled and snoring on my lap for hours :)
Friday night was glorious... i came home around 10 after a long LONG day, Bili made me a Gin (Bombay Sapphire) and tonic, our new favorite drink, and i took a nice long warm bath and washed my hair! It had been three weeks since i washed my hair. I was due!
Saturday Bili and i spent most the day in the kitchen cooking together. We had 'The Nightmare before Christmas' playing as background noise and we marinated steaks, made 24 deviled eggs, curried pumpkin fritters, zucchini cake with whipped maple icing, and sour cream cookies. All this was going with us on sunday to a halloween party!
We had found a Candy Thermometer at Walmart for $3 earlier that day... and I LOVE IT! Im so tired of testing the hardball stage of sugar in a glass of cold water... and i LOVE my thermometer! SO MUCH! so much!
I even used it to test the hot oil for the fritters. And, well... i have to tell you... i dont deep fry much. at all. ever. And i wasnt thinking clearly... and when i was done with the oil... i... um... well... put the pan in the sink...and turned on the cold water....
...
...
...Bili and I barely escaped the explosion. But now i can laugh at the oil that exploded ALL OVER our kitchen. After we cleaned it up the floor was still slick, so we danced in our socks and slid around for awhile. Made it all better!
I've also been running for 8+ weeks every mon/wed/fri. Using a simple couch to 5k program. A few weeks have been repeated if i found them particularly hard or was unable to complete what was expected. Last friday was the first time i ran 20 minutes straight (2miles) without stopping, Ever... in my life. So it might sound silly, but im proud of myself. My Aunt just ran a marathon in a little over 3 hours and qualified for the Boston Marathon (all the spots were filled in record time (8hours) and she didnt get one). But i cannot imagine running for three hours... my schedule has me running 25 minutes straight this friday and that seems crazy to me!
But im doing it, and not giving up, so hooray for me. AND BONUS- my thighs are freaking awesome... seriously. Muscles GALORE! And i dont get winded running up the stairs. HA!
Found the joy that is home made face products.... ie: Aspirin Mask: 1 packet of BC powdered Aspirin (or 2 uncoated Aspirin pills) + tiny bit of water + 1 T honey= awesome face mask. Apply all over face, let it dry for 15 minutes then wash off.
awesome!
Also, 1T milk + 1T knox gellatin = mix and microwave for 10 seconds. Let cool a bit and spread on your nose and other blackhead ridden areas. Let dry completely. Peel off... and there ya go, home made biore Strip. CHEAP!
Sunday we hauled our dog and all that foodage to our friends house to eat, drink and pass out candy to kids. I had found a Conan O'Brien face to print off the internet and made it into a silly mask for our friend Drew to wear. Im sure the kids thought we were nuts but we thought it was hilarious for the Skeleton passing out candy to also introdruce his friend, TV Personality Conan O'Brien, who was hiding in the bushes. Who in turn told the kids to watch his new show on TBS.
Like i said, the kids were confused, but our tipsy asses were most definitely amused!
Today i need to get out and rake the yard some more. Our first clean up attempt got us about 9 huge bags of leaves filled. And we cram them in like no ones business. I think ill get that many or more today...and there is still another 1-2 more clean ups left on those trees. I wish our Maple would drop leaves like the Dogwoods did. My dogwoods are already done and DONE!
Looking at my calender i realize in a few short weeks i will be decorating for Christmas! I always decorate the day after thanksgiving because Bili works and I don't and I have almost a whole day to make the house cheery and beaming with holiday delight! And I don't decorate for any other season so its my one day a year to play with seasonal crap! I'm getting a little sick of our trees, so this year i will hang assorted ornaments from my curtain rod on pretty ribbon at varying lengths. Display Window Style! It will look good since i already hang giant balls from the front porch each year :)
And now, pictures:
Third Annual Zombie walk from a few weeks back! Bili and I were a 1950's housewife/husband!
Former Room mate, forever my son, Scot and his awesome cowboy costume.
this year's video about the zombie walk ... Bili gets interviewed up front! woot!
Part Two!
Since there was an after party at the gallery with a live band and booze i went home to shower and change in between... i didn't want to spend all night in pore-clogging grease makeup. But the fake blood stained my face so i had to reapply it for the night. Bili of course didnt bother changing, he enjoyed his green face.
Got the entire family in our bed!
Vega Playing in the leaves! Looks like she is Singing!
My first Lemon right before picking!
My Fall themed Table Centerpiece. Gourds and Acorns from my yard, and 2 quash that i get to eventually eat!
